20¢ Olive ~ 2UL15 ~ A Welcome Re-entry

It was a real treat to find this 20¢ Admiral re-entry in a recent lot provided to me by Paul Bourque of Acadia Stamps!

5¢ Blue ~ 9LL84 ~ Re-entry or Retouch?

Here is a cute little variety that does not seem to have been mentioned by Marler, but probably should have been.

7¢ Bistre Retouch ~ 3LL59

Marler lists quite a number of retouches for the 7¢ Bistre - 3LL59 would seem to be one of the easier ones to plate.

Ugly....but interesting!

A bundle find starts out boring, but interest increases very quickly.

LINES THAT HAVE BEEN STRENGTHENED.

When the final impression of the stamp design on the printing plate was not satisfactory, the engraver could improve the final product. This improvement would be done by manually etching lines deeper into the plate.

Flaws

LINES AND MARKS THAT SHOULD NOT BE PRESENT.

Plate Flaws usually are the result of some kind of damage to the printing plate. This damage can be present before stamp production or can occur over the useful life of the printing plate.
